This post is so poignant and touched my heart as I've felt this way since my first born went to preschool. As the empty nest loomed closer I was blessed with my twins who are now in 6th grade. As they reached this milestone I managed to keep my tears away from their sight and let them fly for the first time without ‘worrying about Mom'. (HUGE accomplishment for me lol) What we can know for sure is our children are some of the lucky ones.
